Garage Door Opener and Stair Risers and Treads

We set out for the weekend to be full of house renovation progress and we didn't let ourselves down.  Greg spent a majority of his time in the garage.  He installed two new electrical outlets as well as installed a new garage door opener.  No longer do we have to hit the button 5 times in order to get it to open or close.  The new opener also has a nifty feature that when you walk past the sensor, the overhead light turns on.  The little things excite us.

While Greg worked in the garage, I worked on the stairs.  Half of the stair treads are now stained in Special Walnut and have two coats of polyurethane.  Waiting for those to dry 12 more hours so we can nail them down.  The other half of the treads are now getting stained.  We are still able to get up the stairs, but it's a little tricky.  I also puttied, sanded, primed and put two coats of Alabaster paint on all of the trim and risers.  Stairs are getting closer to completion!  Still some small trim to clean up but happy with our progress this weekend.

  1. Congratulations on a great renovation job. I personally prefer roller shutters for my garage. It's easier to install for me.
