Beach Wedding and Special Visit

No home renovations to share this time. We took a break from our very busy schedule to go to Brian and Shelly's Vero Beach FL wedding last Saturday (Greg's brother and our new sister-in-law). It was a gorgeous evening and we had a fabulous time.

We had plenty of time with family and new-found friends as well as soaking up some of that Florida sun. We got our fill of seafood since Indiana isn't highly known for it's fresh seafood.

After our time in Vero Beach, Greg and I drove north in our fancy Dodge Challenger (no, this wasn't the car we had planned to rent but let's just say we got an unexpected upgrade due to a savy saleswomen and two very tired travelers) to St Augustine to be true tourists: Fountain of Youth, the castillo and lighthouse. Our hotel was on the beach so we had plenty of walks on the beach and time for Greg to tame the waves.

We ended our vacation with a day trip to Jacksonville to visit Dorothy. For those who don't know, Dorothy was my neighbor growing up. I can't remember a time not knowing her. A couple of years ago, she moved to Florida to be close to her biological family. We were her Indiana family; actually most of Kentland is her Indiana family. I had been communicating with her daughter Judi so we could spend some time with Dorothy. We had such a great time. Sure, she may be repeating some stories from time to time, but what do you expect from someone who is 98? I can only hope I'm that healthy at that age. It was so good to see her. She sells hello to everyone in Kentland.
As always, check out more pics at our photo website.

I don't think Greg or I will ever be Florida people, but we are thankful we have Florida friends and family to further enhance this Adventure called Life (yes, Darwin, that was for you).
