Splish Splash (we were not taking a bath)

Saturday morning we woke up to find water on part of the kitchen counter.  It had rained Friday night so we thought maybe the window had leaked but the window was dry.  We looked up to a crack in the ceiling.  Greg investigated the hall bath upstairs to find a leak in the bathroom sink.  We didn't have it in our plans to fix a sink on Saturday so we put it out of order.  Luckily we have other bathrooms to use.

Sunday morning we woke up to more water on the kitchen counter.  We had not used the sink.  Was it the toilet?   Greg cut into the kitchen ceiling to find some soggy plaster and lath.  He couldn't find a leak or crack in the pipes.  Could the toilet be leaking elsewhere?  Greg went upstairs and pulled up the toilet.  He found rusted out areas near the seal.  Two leaks leading to one big mess in the kitchen ceiling.

The bathroom needs a renovation but it is not in the foreseeable future.  Greg's goal: fix the sink and toilet at minimal cost and time to get us through until the renovation happens.

Right before kick off of the Colts vs. Broncos game, the toilet was no longer leaking and the sink was on its way to being fixed.  The sink will have to wait until a day the Colts aren't playing.

Go Colts!
